Meanwhile, a mysterious figure from her past, Tamatoa's eccentric and flamboyant cousin, SHINY, emerges from the shadows. SHINY claims to have discovered a hidden journal belonging to the ancient demigod, Maui. The journal hints at the existence of a hidden island, untouched by human civilization, where Te Fiti's secrets and powers can be unlocked.
